Staff Engineer

About the Role

This is a highly technical engineering leader position operating between Head of Engineering, Senior Staff Engineer, Technical Team Lead, and Engineering Quarterback. The role involves keeping projects moving smoothly across engineering, product, customer, and leadership teams while remaining deeply involved in technical delivery. This position reports directly to the CTO and requires leading by example, writing production code, owning architecture and technical direction, mentoring engineers, driving execution across multiple initiatives, working closely with product and customers, and operating in a flat, high-trust environment.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background in backend or distributed systems
• Experience in blockchain, crypto, fintech, or financial infrastructure
• Experience with strongly typed backend languages such as Rust, Go, C/C++, Java, Scala or similar
• Experience building production systems and shipping complex software
• Strong understanding of system architecture and engineering trade-offs
• Ability to operate hands-on while also leading initiatives and people
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders
